A lifetime of Portuguese Water Dog love…
InDrive Portuguese Water Dogs is located 45 minutes east of Seattle on Lake Margaret in Duvall, WA. We chose this location so that we could offer our PWDs the opportunity to swim, run, and train right outside of their front door.
I got my first PWD from Katrina Jackson of Jewel de Agua in 1997, when I was 8 years old. I chose the breed then for same reasons I cherish it now – biddability, infectious energy, and a burning desire to get out and DO things. Over the past two decades I have become thoroughly enmeshed in the breed, attending specialties, serving on the PNWPWDC board, teaching water workshops, and cultivating the foundations of a breeding program that I am proud of. I am a member of both the Portuguese Water Dog Club of America and the Pacific Northwest Portuguese Water Dog Club. I owe a debt of gratitude to Linda Adams of Fishbay for allowing me to become so involved in her breeding program before starting out on my own. I have learned so much and greatly value her continued guidance.
I train and owner handle my dogs in conformation, water work, agility, rally, obedience, dock diving, barn hunt, lure coursing, tracking, and any other venue we can get our hands and paws into. My love of this breed is rooted in their versatility and love for activity, and I believe that training and participating in these activities together produces the strongest bond and deepest communication between dog and owner.
